A PIONEER IN COMPUTER EDUCATION

Valuing the famous Filipino quote, “Kung ano ang itinanim ay siyang aanihin” (What you sow is what you reap), is one of the reasons why MICROCITY COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGY, INC. developed and continued to grow into a competent school in the service of the youth in the province of Bataan.

The school is the product of the pioneering vision of Ms. Carmen M. Mallari, one the founding board members and the current president and administrator. She is a graduate of BS Chemical Engineering and acquired Master’s degree in Computer Science. Armed with experience and lots of courage, she, together with the members of her family, put up Microcity Computer Learning Centre in February 1992. It became one of the pioneering computer schools in Balanga offering courses in computer programming, computer secretarial, and computer hardware technology. In 1995, the learning center changed its name to Microcity Computer College Foundation, Inc. Then in 1996 the school started to offer its first degree course, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. In March 1999, the school built its own four-storey building to accommodate the fast rising number of students. The campus is now located at Narra Street cor. Capitol Drive, Balanga City, Bataan.

With its commitment to quality education, the school has added to its growing services other courses duly recognized under CHED, TESDA, and DepED curricula. To cater to the demands of advancing technology, the programs are constantly reviewed and revised to keep with the changing times. The qualified faculty and staff constantly update their knowledge and skills through different trainings and seminars. As a result, the school attracts students not only in the City of Balanga but the neighboring towns as well, thus giving them quality education closer to their homes.

For more than 24 years, MICROCITY remains one of the competent and stable educational institutions in the Province of Bataan. The motto of the school is not only to provide quality education but also to promote extra curricular activities that develop their skills thus producing high quality graduates who are now successful in their chosen endeavors.

To reflect the growing programs being offered by the school, MICROCITY changed its name to MICROCITY COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGY, Inc., in 2015. Through the years the school has built a strong foundation and built a name that neither storm nor time can destroy. This is MICROCITY – building a strong foundation for the Filipino youth.
